On behalf of the 368th Military Police Co Detachment, I want to convey to
you in a most appreciative manner how much you have touched our lives with
what you, along with adoptaplatoon have done for my group, as well as
soldiers. There is no comprehending the time, money, effort, coordination,
and heart you all gave to be here for us- people you have never met, not
worrying whether it would fall into ungrateful hands. You gave
wholeheartedly, wanting nothing more than a picture of your beneficiaries.
Your letter to your son Chauncey was moving, to say the least. Your
grieving, yet accepting heart showed that you truly loved him, and wanted
his place in the world to be his alone, not yours. His inspiration-for our
benefit-compels me to want to be that better person, to see others the way
he saw them. Thank you for sharing this intimate part of your life.
A little bit about our detachment: We are based out of Guam, a territory
the US Pacific region. At this time we are in Bagram, running the Customs
program here. We also have soldiers in Kabul, as well as GITMO. Yes, we
from a small island, a small unit, and an even smaller detachment; but
we get the call to deploy, the leaders we have come here with have huge
hearts and complete dedication in getting us here. Our trust in them to
for us and see to it that we make it home safely is more than evident.
One such leader- SSG Charles Pinaula, has taken it upon himself to seek
and solicit assistance, not for himself, but for his soldiers. He is on
third deployment, with a wife and young children longing for his return.
applaud him, but much more you and your team for finding the need and
filling it. Thank you both.
The attached picture is a portion of our group receiving and enjoying
love and blessings. Keep up the good work, for it does not go unnoticed.
